The Homecoming festivities for 2019 have been set by Student Council.

The theme for Homecoming this year is “Know Your Roots”.  A variety of activities have been planned for Homecoming week.

Community events include:

  • Community Band performance on Monday, September 23
  • Tailgate party by grade on Tuesday, September 24
  • Bonfire, Thursday September 26 after dark
  • Events of  Friday, September 27:
  • Beat the Drum all day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.Alumni Reception hosted by Student Council in the Gym Foyer at 1:30
  • Homecoming Parade 2:00
  • Pep Rally 2:30
  • Pre-game dinner 5:00 – 6:30
  • Homecoming Court presentation and crowning 7:00
  • Homecoming game 7:30
  • Homecoming street dance 9:30

High School Events

  • Hall Decorating – Friday, September 20 all day by grade
  • Street Painting – Sunday, September 22 5 to 7 p.m.
  • Monday, September 23 – “Merica Day” – Wear patriotic clothing
  • Tuesday, September 24 -“Generations Day” – Seniors – Elderly, Juniors – College Kids, Sophomores – Toddlers, Freshmen – Babies, Teachers – High School Kids
  • Wednesday, September 25 -“Opposite Day” – Dress the opposite of what you normally would
  • Thursday, September 26 – “Color Wars” – Teachers – Orange, Seniors – Black, Juniors -Blue, Sophomores – Red, Freshmen – White  Classes will decorate Gym after school
  • Friday, September 27 – Spirit Day – wear your Morton gear.

Junior High School Events

  • Monday, September 23 – “Patriotic Day” – Wear patriotic clothing
  • Tuesday, September 24 -“Color Wars” – Teachers – Pink, 8th – Red, 7th – Blue, 6th – Yellow
  • Wednesday, September 25 -“Decades Day” – Dress like your favorite decade
  • Thursday, September 26 – Jersey Day – wear your favorite team’s jersey
  • Friday, September 27 – Spirit Day – wear your Morton gear.

Elementary Events

  • Monday, September 23 – Crazy hair day
  • Tuesday, September 24 -Super Hero Day
  • Wednesday, September 25 -Twin Day
  • Thursday, September 26 – “Color Wars” – PK – Red, Kinder – Orange, 1st – Yellow, 2nd – Green, 3rd – Blue, 4th – Purple, 5th – Pink
  • Friday, September 27 – Spirit Day – wear your Morton gear.

Homecoming Court will be announced on Friday, September 13.  Students will be voting on a King and Queen, Football Sweetheart, Band Sweetheart, Football Beau and a Duke and Duchess for Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen.  The winning name for the “Name our Indian” contest will be announced at the game on Friday night.
