Prom 2019 provides an “evening under the stars”

Russell Hill, for The Tribe

The forecast for Saturday was clear and warm.  But this is West Texas, and it is April, the weather can change in a matter of seconds, usually for the worst.

Despite the risk of unpredictable weather, the junior class produced the 2019 Prom as “An Evening Under the Stars”,   with festivities taking place in the courtyard of the high school.

The juniors prepared all week, making table decorations, clearing brush, mowing grass, bringing in all manner of rustic items.  A dance floor and wooden backdrop were built by woodworking teacher Mr. McCain and food was prepared and served by the junior class parents.

Prom King Alverto Alvarado and Prom Queen Jocelyn Pina.

Students enjoyed a barbecue dinner and danced into the night in the courtyard illuminated with hundreds of lights.  At the end of the evening, the King and Queen were announced, Alvertao (AJ) Alvarado and Jocelyn Pina.

Formal photos of prom were taken at a photo booth and are available for viewing and purchase at:
