This past week at Region 1 FCCLA Conference in Odessa several of the MHS FCCLA competed against the best of the best from 1A through 6A schools from the entire region. Participating from Morton High School was Elena Alvarado, Yadira Martinez, Mikayla Morin, Kami Rodriguez, Madie Rodriguez, Makayla Rodriguez, and Haili Smith.

Five students participated in Family Consumer Science Assessments. Congratulations go out to Kami Rodriguez for earning a GOLD medal and to Elena Alvarado & Makayla Rodriguez for earning a SILVER Medal and a placement to compete at the State Competition in Dallas on April 4-6.

Mikayla Morin and Yadira Martinez

Yadira Martinez and Mikayla Morin competed in the Illustrated Talk STAR Event focusing on the topic of domestic violence. They earned 4th place in their event, a GOLD medal and a placement to compete at the State Competition.

Yadira Martinez also served MHS FCCLA as our voting delegate making decisions on Region and State Officers and voting on bylaw amendments.
